What is Christianity all about? What happens when we die? How do we deal with guilt? What relevance does Jesus have for our lives?

If you would like to explore questions like these in a comfortable setting, Alpha might be for you.

The Alpha course is a 15 session practical exploration of the Christian faith which has seen extraordinary success at stimulating faith among those who are not churchgoers, and also given a new dynamism to many existing Christians. It is run in 15 sessions, usually held over 10 weeks. It is primarily designed for non-churchgoers and new Christians. It was devised at Holy Trinity Brompton church in London, UK and there are now an estimated 24,000 courses all over the UK and overseas.

Nicky Gumbel, author of the curriculum of the course, Questions of Life, took into account literally thousands of questionnaires while developing his talks on such questions as "Who is Jesus?", "How and Why do I Pray?", "How does God guide us?" and "Does God heal today?" The format of the course is that after a family-style supper and perhaps a worship song, a talk is presented by video and then a small group discussion follows.
