What is the ‘Faith in the Workplace’ event about and why should I attend?

>> Intro

>> Having A Bigger Vision for Your Role in the Workplace!

>> Talk 2: 'What the Bible teaches about faith in the Workplace'

>> Talk 3: 'What are the next steps?' or 'How do I make this work?'

>> How do I connect?

Have you ever wanted to be a more effective witness for Christ in the workplace?

Christ taught us to pray, ‘your Kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven’.  This includes every area of our lives; family, neighborhood and, in particular, where we spend most of our conscious time, the workplace.  This event will inform and equip you in how to see more of God’s Kingdom and His will being done in your business and for the benefit of your work colleagues.

Based on first-hand experience, including a mini revival that took place in the financial sector in the City of London in the early 90’s, you will be encouraged and equipped to  be a more effective witness for Christ while maintaining outstanding success and professionalism in your responsibilities to your business.

In addition, we all need encouragement, and this event will provide a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with other Christians in the marketplace.

Having a bigger vision for your role in the workplace!

Have you ever wondered why God has blessed you so much in your life – family, ability, finances, responsibility etc?

If you read the parable of the Talents (Luke 19:11-27, Matt   ) it is clear that God wants us to be good stewards of all that he has placed into our hands.  Scripture also teaches  that He has prepared specific work for us to do while we are on earth (Eph 2:10) and we glorify Him by completing this work (John 17:4).  This event will give you a bigger vision for what God wants you to do and be in the workplace.

What will the event include?

The event is unique to others in that it is not just inspiration but also application. You will hear three talks from leaders in their field that will inspire, educate, and equip you as you return into the workplace to live out your faith.

Talk 1: ‘Leading from the Front’

The first talk will be a personal story of faith in the workplace by none other than a business leader at the top of his field (see speakers and Bio’s section). This talk will quell any thought that you can’t both live out your faith at work and also be successful in your career.

Talk 2: ‘What the Bible teaches about faith in the Workplace’

The second talk will share with you the Biblical perspective on the workplace. Speakers here include those that run workplace ministries themselves and regularly speak internationally and domestically at workplace faith events, including having written books (some bestsellers) on the subject. This talk will educate you that our work does matter to God, as an example, it matters so much it is mentioned in different forms more than 800 times in the Bible, more than all the words used to express worship, music, praise and singing combined.

Talk 3: ‘What are the next steps?’…or ‘How do I make this work?’

Finally, as the foundation is set for you to live out your faith in the workplace, the third talk will focus on practical and applicable ways for you to do that. You will hear from speakers who are or were leaders in business and have also lived out their faith in the workplace from a practical point of view. You will hear about how to get started, such as how to find other Christians in the workplace, how to form groups, start praying together, plan and hold group discussion sessions. You will also learn about specific tools that you can use as you grow in your faith alongside your group, such as the God at Work group study (for you and your fellow Christian colleagues), or the Alpha in the Workplace course (when you are ready to reach out to others in your workplace to share the good news of Jesus Christ), among other tools.

How do I connect?

Before you conclude the event, you will have the opportunity to sign-up to hear more about our resources, connect with local workplace faith leaders, request information on starting and/or leading a course, request information on how to join a course, information on how to access/purchase resources, and finally how to connect with Christian colleagues at the event.
