Bethel Horizons is a camp and retreat center located adjacent to Governor Dodge State Park, near Dodgeville, WI. The mission of Bethel Horizons Foundation, Inc is to develop and perpetuate a physical, social, intellectual and spiritual environment which will strengthen and enhance the understanding of a person's proper relation to nature, self, others and God." Christ Pond Good for small groups of 15-20. Bring your own food, linens or sleeping bag, several big bedrooms with 2-6 single beds in each room. 3 bathrooms. Has full kitchen with utensils, walking paths, 2 ponds, living area with fire place. cost is $25 for overnight per person. We go up on Friday afternoon and complete the weekend on Saturday late afternoon so cost is $25 per person.

Monte Alverno in Appleton in the middle of town on a huge piece of property, woods, river, etc. and near the highway. Donation was $25.00 a day inclusive of food. Private rooms with showers. Others are double rooms and some places two rooms share a shower. There is a chapel, cafeteria and two large group meeting areas and several small areas. They can handle up to 175 at a time. Recommended by Len at Christian Live, Waunakee.

Whispering Pines Retreat: We manage a retreat center in Shawano. We're having our first Alpha group in January 2010. The cost is $30/night/person. Groups bring their own linens, do their own cooking. There are a few double beds, but it's mostly bunk beds. The website has lots of photos. Kay Fredrick

Silver Birch Ranch, White Lake WI. Silver Birch is not far from where I live and they are a Christian based operation that has lodging, meeting rooms, dining hall food service, and lots of outdoor activities. (A lot of times, we see horses out there but I don't know if they are ones people have brought in.) Brad Ellis is the contact and the phone is 715-484-2742 x 232. We think the cost is very reasonable...our meeting room is $75, lunch is $4 per person and they provide tables, chairs, projector, screen, trash pickup AND we can bring in our own coffee and break foods. They also have a fancy Starbucks type coffee bar.
