Alpha for English Speakers of Other Languages
Alpha for ESOL is a new form of Alpha designed especially for those whose primary language is not English or those who might be new to hearing Christian concepts. There is no English instruction involved, though the small groups do provide guests an opportunity to practice speaking English. The talks are delivered by trained live speakers and the pace is relaxed and welcoming to internationals. Classic Alpha presents one 45 minute talk followed by 30 minutes of small group discussion. Alpha for ESOL involves a series of short talks ... 10 minute talk/ 15 minute discussion, 10 minute talk, 15 minute discussion, and so on. This format allows the guest time to process each topic before moving on to another point. The course allows us the freedom to move at the pace of the guest. It is a wonderful way for believers to actually experience cross cultural ministry. It is relaxed, exciting and fun. If you would like to hear more about this new form of Alpha, contact lisasmith@alphausa.org
