Something More

Pierce

How does one start a blog? Like this I guess....
Well Hello everyone, my name is Pierce Bowker and I'm one of the Vintage interns over here at Westminster chapel in Bellevue, WA. I thought I'd take some time to introduce myself, and let you know how I came to be part of vintage.

First let me give you a little back ground on myself. I was born and raised in a wonderfully loving Christian home in the beautiful state of New Jersey. Now, most people would disagree with this description of my state, but no one is perfect right?

Anyhow, I lived there until I began attending Cedarville University in Ohio. A wonderful school that I very highly recommend. I began as a Psychology major, but like so many college students I began looking to other majors. After a good while of indecision, I decided to go home until I had a better idea of what God wanted for my life. I began working at a retirement community as well as interning with the college and career group of my home church. It was a wonderful time of growth for me, but about January of this year I began to feel unrest, that God had something more for me. Well it wasn't long after that I received an email about Vintage. After prayer and consideration I submitted an Interest form for the September course. That was Feb 13. the next day I received a call from Mike the Vintage Director saying there were still openings for the February course if I was interested. But it was starting the 25th. That would give me ten days to pack everything up and leave my friends and family for the other side of the country. My family and I prayed about it, and I went for it. I really felt this was the “something else” God had for me. Has it been easy? Please. But is God doing great things? Greater than I can possibly understand.

Hey Pierce! Like I was telling David, It was great meeting you all while I got to visit Seattle.I really enjoyed feeling like a part of the team and helping out with the community yard work. I've also been enjoying Mark letting me in on all the other projects you interns are accomplishing along with books and discussion that are being completed during the internship. I'm glad that God brought you to this internship...all of you. You guys make up a great team and I hope to join you all again the next time I visit. Blessings!
